Thinking about a redo of Lynda Williams’ novella Kath, published by Absolute XPress. Needed a new concept, as the current one is very similar to Yukari Yamamoto’s original anime-style cover from several years ago. Publisher thinks it’s a good idea. Waiting to hear Lynda’s feedback on my imagining of Under Gelion, a city in her Okal Rel Universe. Lots of Photoshop in this one, with the underlying landscape based on a photo I took from the top of Calton Hill in Edinburgh, Scotland.

My first photo manipulated book cover. The title is just placeholder text, but will give you an idea of what it could look like.
With a few edits and the actual design work done by a designer, this will be the cover for the next release by Bundoran Press.
Thinking about Lynda Williams’s novella, The Lorel Experiment. Was going to do this cover back in 2009, but it was put on hold while we worked on a more pressing project. Waiting to hear back on this one before it can go ahead.
In 1944 my dad’s twin brother was shot down in a Lancaster bomber flying over Germany, and crashed near the Belgian town of Spa. He and his crew were buried in a war cemetery in the town of Heverlee, and a monument was erected in the fagnes of Berinzenne at Spa.
Sixty years ago my dad visited these two sites, and these past two weeks he took my younger sister and me to visit them for the first time.
Aaand something did come of that last sketch. I will likely make some tweaks when I return from a trip next month, but this will be the cover of Lynda Williams’s book 7 of the Okal Rel Saga published by EDGE and Tesseract Books.
Nothing may come of this sketch, but was just thinking about Lynda Williams’s Healer’s Sword, Part Seven of the Okal Rel Saga.
